Now when it comes to storing your home made wine, their are several things you can do. Besides the obvious 2 liter PET Bottle (Soda bottle if you are in the States and Pop if you are Canadian), you can use various other ways of storing your homemade juice wine. This is however a short term choice and by short term I mean maybe a week or two. As a PET bottle is made of plastic and will eventually corrode and break down.

Glass Bottles:

One thing that is really cool about a glass bottle or container is glass doesn’t expire! What I mean is when compared to a PET Bottle, a glass bottle has no other chemicals so your wine and juice drinks will always stay clean. If you want your wine or juice to sit their, it will!

Ofcourse if its juice, once its natural life cycle is up, even glass won’t help you. However, juice or wine stored in a glass bottle will last much longer then anything else. But their is a way to store your homemade wine and take it to the next level.

Wine Barrels:

If you really love making wine at home like I do, you will purchase several barrels. This is how the ancient Greeks did it and now professionals use it to truly bring the wine out. The most popular and the best ones are made out of Oak. Oak barrels can not only store and ‘age’ your wine but even enhance the flavor and the overall delicious texture.

In fact, some of the most sweetest wines in the world are like that because they mingled with Oak properties. Some people get so crazy when they start making wine at home that they start buying custom barrels with their names on them!

Why not? This is home wine making baby!
