Cooking with wine might be a new concept for you but it has always been there since wine became a domestic drink. A small quantity of wine not only improves the taste but it always enhances the flavor of the food and therefore it has become an essential and important ingredient in a number of food dishes around the world.

Cooking with Red Wine:
Red wine is best for enhancing the color and essence of the food and at the same time making the food less sugary. If you are cooking light colored dishes including white meat, fish or chicken, white wine is best to alter the flavor of the food by adding acidic content to the food. These wines can improve the color of a number of foods and are best if added in cream based sauces, seafood soup and shellfish dishes.

:
Cooking wines are also available in the market and these wines generally contain salt as preservative and can also be added in some recipes, however you will need to adjust your salt contents in your dishes.
