Pronounced ‘Pee-noh-n’wahr’ – Pinot Noir wine comes from Pinot Noir grapes. Did you know that almost 90% of wine names come from the name of the grape itself?

The Pinot Noir grape was discovered around the Roman Era and since than, has made its own mark on the entire wine drinking world.

Although these grapes are found around the world, the best variety can be found in France in the ‘Burgundy’ area (With California and many other regions that are not far behind). Pinot Noir grapes are also one of the hardest to turn into wine (Due to a heavy presence of amino acids that are balanced naturally). On the flipside, one of the most amazing wines available today are made from Pinot Noir grapes.

Pinot Noir can be classified as a mild red wine. A red wine that creates sweet fruit like flavors on the pallet. While drinking this wine, you will find that flavors of rich Raspberry and Strawberry are a common occurrence.

Pinot Noir wine should be paired with the finest real Italian pasta for pure enjoyment. However, the versatility of this wine really makes it work with a lot of meals including spicy food and beef dishes.

The Pinot Noir grape might be tough to grow, but the result in wine is well worth it. Athough expensive but jam packed with delicious flavor, Pinot Noir wine is a true delight.
